Charisms are bestowed by the Holy Spirit for the good of the world.
The term comes from the Greek word charis, meaning grace or gift. These supernatural abilities are not for personal benefit but are meant to build up the Body of Christ, fostering faith, unity, and service within the Church.
Charisms vary widely, including wisdom, prophecy, healing, teaching, hospitality, administration, and evangelization. St. Paul speaks of them in 1 Corinthians 12, emphasizing that while different, all charisms originate from the same Spirit and work together for the common good.
