Pray and let us raise one’s mind and heart to God!

What We Believe

The Catholic Church recognizes several forms of prayer, each serving a distinct purpose in a believer’s spiritual journey:

  • Blessing and Adoration – This form of prayer acknowledges God’s greatness and expresses love and reverence for Him.
  • Petition – Asking God for help, forgiveness, or guidance.
  • Intercession – Praying on behalf of others, following Christ’s example of interceding for His disciples.
  • Thanksgiving – Expressing gratitude for God’s blessings.
  • Praise – Joyfully glorifying God for who He is.

Each of these prayer forms plays a vital role in deepening one’s relationship with God and fostering a spirit of humility, trust, and dependence on Him.

Prayer is essential in resisting temptation and leading a holy life. The spiritual battles of life cannot be won by human effort alone, and prayer is a powerful weapon against sin. Jesus Himself demonstrated this necessity through His own life of prayer, regularly retreating to pray and encouraging His followers to do the same.

One of the most well-known instances of Jesus teaching about prayer is found in Luke 11:1-4, where the disciples ask Him, “Lord, teach us to pray.” In response, Jesus gives them the Our Father, the model prayer that forms the foundation of Christian prayer life. This passage underscores the importance of prayer by showing that even Jesus’ disciples sought guidance on how to pray effectively. The Lord’s Prayer itself encapsulates the key elements of prayer—adoration, petition, intercession, and surrender to God’s will.
