Dear Parishioners of Saint Katharine Drexel:
It is so good to see you retuning to our public Masses and to see so many of you still tuning in to watch live stream Masses each day. Thank you for your continuing financial support to the parish. So many of you continue to be generous in your tithing. I hope this letter finds all of you well.

The scope of the Building Task-Force is to provide future direction, advice, and insight for the physical campus of St. Katharine Drexel, to include all buildings, the grounds, and utilities.  The Task-Force will meet quarterly to evaluate any long-term strategy planning that is required to provide such a large and complex environment with multiple purposes.  The Council will advise the Pastor/ Administrator and the Finance Council on topics involved the planning process for any maintenance related issues and forecast future repairs/expenses. Suggestions for improvement of the current environment will also be part of the responsibility of the Buildings Task-Force.

In accordance with Canon 536 of The Code of Canon Law (1983), The MISSION of the St. Katharine Drexel (SKD) Pastoral Council, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, is to continue the mission of Christ by fostering witness, worship, and the Word of God, identify the spiritual and pastoral needs of the people of the parish, and foster Christian community where all are encouraged to use and share their gifts of time, talent, and treasure to the best of their ability and for the spiritual wellbeing and good of the Parish.  The Pastoral Council supports the work of the Pastor/Administrator in his spiritual and corporal leadership of God’s people through the various commissions and ministries of St. Katharine’s Drexel Parish.

St. Katharine’s parishioners have always been extraordinarily generous in sharing their time, talents, and resources to do the work of Christ in our Church and in our community. For your convenience we have several options for making your financial contributions.

Envelopes – When you register with the parish you can request to receive envelopes in the US Mail for all Sundays of the year and for Special Collections and Feast Days. Using these envelopes in the weekly collection basket allows us to keep track of your tax-deductible donations. If you do not wish to register with the parish, donating by check will also allow us to keep track of your donations for your tax purposes..

We would like to encourage you to participate in Online Giving as it also helps the church to reduce the cost and risks associated with handling the cash and delivery to the bank.

Catholic Faith Appeal

The Catholic Faith Appeal (or CFA), is a Diocesan-wide fundraising effort to support the ministries, services and administration of the Diocese of Venice. On an annual basis, parishes in the Diocese  make a required contribution to financially support these efforts. This annual contribution is known locally as the “assessment.” The CFA is a means by which all parishioners can take part in helping their parish to meet its assessment. A parish CFA goal is based on its assessment which is determined by the income of the parish.

Your gifts are essential and make all the good works St Katharine Drexel does possible.  The Online Gift Giving helps SKD do this more efficiently.

Thank you, and God Bless

The Finance Council is an integral part of the Stewardship responsibilities of the parish. The council assists the Pastor in his deliberation and decision-making process in order to serve the needs of the Parish in the prudent administration of its resources and funds. The council functions within the guidelines of the Financial Policies and Procedures for Parishes published by the Diocese of Venice. The Finance Council interacts closely with the Parish Council and Buildings Task-Force to assure that the finances are available to support the Parish Mission and goals. The major responsibilities of the Council are to: assist the Pastor in the preparation of the Annual Budget, review Parish revenues and expense reports quarterly and make recommendation as necessary, and assist the Pastor in any and all matters pertaining to the financial operation and well-being of the Parish.
